Thad Jones Hike- March 22 - 23

The approximately 30-mile Thad Jones Trans-Catalina hike starts with boarding boats in Avalon early on Friday morning, March 22 to Emerald Bay. The trail leads East to Two Harbors where you can take a break for lunch, then onto Little Harbor via Banning House Road and spectacular single track ridge trails. Participants will camp overnight at Little Harbor and enjoy a BBQ dinner with fireside gathering after dinner. Saturday morning, hikers depart Little Harbor to meet the BZ Jones hikers for lunch. Catered lunch with BZ Jones hikers is then followed by a short downhill hike to board boats for the short voyage back to Avalon harbor. This hike is advanced.

BZ Jones Hike- March 23

The BZ Jones Cross-Catalina Hike starts by boarding a bus in Avalon, to the windward side of the Island and hiking approximately 10 miles to the leeward side.  Catered lunch with Thad Jones hikers will provide a break along the way and will conclude by boarding boats for the short voyage back to Avalon harbor. This hike is moderate with many climbs and participants should be able to maintain a steady pace.
